Mind Your Macro uses artificial intelligence as a tool in our editorial process. We believe in full transparency about how AI is used, what it does well, and where human judgment is irreplaceable.

What AI Does

We use AI systems to assist with the following tasks:

  • Data aggregation — collecting and organizing data from public sources (FRED, BLS, World Gold Council, central bank releases)
  • Research synthesis — summarizing large volumes of source material into structured research briefs
  • Draft generation — producing initial article drafts based on research briefs and editorial guidelines
  • Structured data creation — generating machine-readable content summaries for AI agents and search engines
  • SEO optimization — meta descriptions, schema markup, and content structure recommendations

What Humans Do

The following tasks are exclusively performed by human editors:

  • Editorial judgment — deciding what topics to cover, what angle to take, and what position to argue
  • Source verification — confirming that all data points, statistics, and claims are accurate and properly attributed
  • Opinion and analysis — all editorial opinions, market predictions, and investment perspectives originate from human analysts
  • Final review and approval — every article is read, edited, and approved by a human before publication
  • Corrections and updates — all post-publication corrections are reviewed and executed by humans

Quality Control

Our AI-assisted workflow includes multiple safeguards:

  1. Anti-slop filtering — we actively screen for generic, unsubstantiated language that AI tends to generate (e.g., “experts say,” “it’s worth noting,” “in today’s fast-paced world”). These phrases are flagged and removed.
  2. Fact-checking against primary sources — AI-generated claims are verified against the original data sources before publication.
  3. Editorial voice consistency — all content is reviewed to ensure it matches our editorial voice and Austrian School perspective, not generic financial commentary.
  4. Disclosure on affiliate content — articles containing affiliate links are clearly marked regardless of whether AI assisted in drafting.

Regulatory Compliance

We are aware of evolving regulations regarding AI-generated content in financial media:

  • FINRA Rule 2210 addresses communications with the public, including AI-generated content about financial products.
  • SEC examination priorities for 2025-2026 include scrutiny of AI-generated financial content and its potential to mislead investors.
  • FTC guidelines require clear disclosure of material connections, including the role of AI in content creation.
